About Us and Our Services
Choosing a Financial Adviser for advising on your Financial Planning Strategy is one of the most important decisions that you will make. One of the keys to financial planning is enjoying good communication and service from your adviser. Our aim is to build long-term relationships by providing a professional and personal service and to provide you with clear guidance in order that you are fully informed when making important financial decisions whether it be for investment advice, pre and post retirement planning or simply reducing costs. We have many years experience in finding the most suitable solution for our clients needs and over the years have built up a network of trusted professionals who can assist and provide more specialist advice in other areas where you may require assistance e.g. mortgages, equity release, commercial finance, wills and conveyancing.
An initial meeting is normally provided at our cost and would involve a discussion to obtain an understanding of your personal and financial situation as well as your needs and objectives.
We would explain the formalities and regulatory requirements that are involved when providing advice and also discuss the initial and ongoing services that we provide as well as the different ways we can be remunerated.
Experience and qualifications are also very important. What services do John S Pidgeon & Co provide?
We provide three main types of service:
Advice in one particular area on a one-off basis e.g. life assurance.
Full consideration is given to your situation and priorities before we prepare a plan which we will then discuss with you and fine tune if appropriate in order that fully informed decisions are made before proceeding.
A full initial review of all your finances which covers all parts of your financial planning.
We have a suite of four Ongoing Service Propositions that you can choose from and which can include ongoing monitoring and an annual review meeting.
How do you pay us?
Our goal is to help you by using our knowledge, experience and guidance to make or save money.
For investment business (e.g. ISA’s, Pensions), up until 1st January 2013 independent advisers were able to be paid by way of a fee from our client or a commission paid by a product provider. Since that date payment by way of commission is no longer an option although commission can continue to be paid for non investment business (e.g. life assurance).
We will therefore agree a fee with you for investment advice. The amount will depend on your requirements and will take into account the length of time and complexity of the work and advice to be provided. Often a project fee is agreed for the research, advice and administration that we provide.
Fees come in two forms, initial (for initial advice) and ongoing (for ongoing servicing/reviews) and will be agreed before any work is started. This is known as Adviser Charging and can either be paid directly to us or can be taken with your agreement from the investment and then paid by the product provider to us.
What do you want from us?
With long-term relationships, communication is so important and everyone is different and wants different things. We treat our clients as individuals and your feedback of all types is welcome in order that we can provide the service that you are looking for.
